Enhanced Sport Programming
Bringing Structure to the Customer Journey Across Flagship Programs

ROLE
Design Lead
SCOPE
Brand Strategy, Website Design & Booking Experience, Instructional Program Rebranding, Motion Graphics, Campaign Direction
Canlan Sports' instructional programs and experiences have always been central to its mission—from daily drop-in sessions to structured skill development, birthday celebrations, and family-focused activities. These are the entry points where people first connect with the sport, and often where kids fall in love with hockey for the first time.
As Lead Designer, my challenge was to modernize and unify how these offerings looked and felt across all touchpoints—while making it easier for customers to discover, understand, and book. This required working across brand, UX, motion, and print, partnering closely with product and marketing teams.
The challenge was multifaceted: the Drop-Ins website needed a seamless booking flow between Canlan's site and a third-party scheduling platform. Birthday Parties needed a quick, accessible booking experience for busy parents. And three key instructional products—Learn to Skate, Level Up Hockey, and Skills & Drills—needed to be restructured and rebranded with their own visual identities while maintaining a cohesive system.
I redesigned the Drop-Ins website so users could browse programs, switch between regional locations, and instantly see available sessions. Customer feedback drove multiple iterations focused on reducing friction and simplifying the journey. For Birthday Parties, I designed a booking flow where parents could browse packages and submit quick forms without complexity. We organized a photoshoot capturing authentic moments of parents and kids on the ice, giving the campaign warmth and energy. Motion graphics, digital campaigns, print materials, and in-rink displays brought these programs to life—introducing them to a new generation with a modern, unified presence.
Working on these projects held deep personal meaning. Hockey has always been close to my heart, and being part of work that helps grow the game—knowing that many of these programs introduce kids to the sport for the very first time—felt especially meaningful.
